Suellen K. Reed (Indiana) has served as Indiana’s superintendent of public instruction since 1992. During her career she has been a teacher at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and local superintendent. Reed is cochair of Indiana’s Education Roundtable and was chair of the Chief State School Officers from 2001 to 2002. She is a member of the executive committee of the Education Commission of the States.
